Dancing was a part of my life from age 6 when my father bought a dance hall to have Mexican dances every weekend. It wasn’t until the Disco era of the late ’70s that I desired to learn and teach ballroom dance.
From age 18 through 20 I taught as a Certified Ballroom Dance Instructor at the Silver 1 & 2 level at both the Dearborn (under the instruction of Mark Brock – current MC of Gold Star Dancesport Championship and Michigan Dance Challenge Organizer) and Lathrup (nka Southfield, under the instruction of Candy McKenzie), Michigan Arthur Murray Dance Studios.
Although professionally I took a long break from dancing to raise four children, dancing remained a large part of my life on a social level, primarily Salsa and other Latin dances.
In 2013, I realized my dream by moving to the warm state of Arizona and immediately approached the Phoenix Arthur Murray Dance Studio to teach again and did so professionally on a part-time basis for a year from 2013 to 2014 and became Certified again at the Bronze 1 & 2 level.
The love of dance has motivated me to teach again. Thus, I began again in Summer of 2017 teaching beginners because to me it is the most rewarding.
